• American Sociological Association - national association with information for sociologists, students, and the public.   Professional information includes membership, organizational activities, research & funding opportunities, ASA Footnotes, monthly Employment Bulletin and more.
• International Sociological Association - aims to represent sociologists everywhere, regardless of their school of thought, scientific approaches or ideological opinion, and to advance sociological knowledge throughout the world.
• Society for Applied Sociology - founded in 1978, is an international organization for professionals involved in applying
  sociological knowledge in a wide variety of settings.
• North Carolina Sociological Association - state-wide organization dedicated to the expansion of the field of sociology in education, business, and the community.
• Pacific Sociological Association  - regional association for West Coast based sociologists.
• Southern Sociological Society - located at Mississippi State University to promote the development of sociology as a profession and scientific discipline.
• Anabaptist Sociology and Anthropology Association - an organization for sociologists and anthropologists (and fellow travelers of these disciplines) who either embrace or study the several Christian movements descended from the Anabaptist movement of the 16th century (e.g., Amish, Brethren, Hutterite, Mennonite).
• Social Science Computing Association - to promote the development of computing within the social sciences through organized activities and the interchange of ideas, data, teaching materials, experiences, research results, and other resources.
• Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction (SSSI) - professional organization of scholars interested in qualitative, especially interactionist, research.
• Mid-South Sociological Association - a regional association for sociological interests.
• Southwestern Social Science Association - to stimulate and improve scientific research in the study of society and to
  encourage communication and cooperative relations among persons engaged in this pursuit.
• The Association for Humanist Sociology - active support network for sociologists and other scholars committed to humanist values, as they practice in institutions often hostile to such an approach.
• American Association for Public Opinion Research - an association of people interested in the methods, applications, and analysis of public opinion and survey research. Includes Public Opinion Quarterly index.

• ASA Section on Collective Behavior and Social Movements - The Collective Behavior and Social Movements Section of the American Sociological Association provides information of interest to those who study movements and collective action.

• Australian Sociological Association - facilitating teaching and research and enhancing the professional development of TASA members.

• Canadian Council on Social Development, The - national, non-profit organization which focuses on issues of social and economic security.
• Canadian Sociology and Anthropology Association (CSAA/SCSA) - professional association which promotes research, publication, and teaching in these fields in Canada.

• Social Watch - NGO watchdog group that monitors the performance of governments in meeting targets of social progress to which they have committed themselves to at UN Conferences; includes individual country reports.
